Sausage Spinach Turnovers
Yum. That's all I have to say. Yum. Autumn says they are full of sausage-y goodness.
1 lb. bulk sausage
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 10 oz pkg frozen spinach; thawed, and squeezed dry
1 1/2 cups shredded SHARP cheddar cheese
2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. dried marjoram
1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed OR 1 recipe Pizza Crust
Cook the sausage and the onion over medium heat. Drain. Stir in the spinach, cheese, mustard, and marjoram. Stir until cheese is melted.
Divide the dough into 8 portions. Roll each into a 6" circle. Spoon about 1/2 cup sausage mixture into the center of each round. Brush the edges with egg white; fold dough over filling, and press the edges with a fork.
Place on greased cookie sheets. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Brush tops with egg whites; cut a slit in the top of each, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes until lightly browned.
These are terrific served with mustard to dip in.
